Colorado
Telluride, Colorado
- What to do:
- Telluride is home to 147 groomed ski/snowboard trails with even more backcountry; you won’t be bored! One of the best things about Telluride is that there is almost never a lift line; they have it down to a science and you are never waiting in line for more than a couple of minutes!
- How to get there:
- There are three airports near Telluride:
- Telluride Regional Airport: now offering commercial flights. Currently the airlines flying
into Telluride Airport are- American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, and Allegiant Airlines. - Montrose Regional Airport: Located 1 hr. from Telluride. There are shuttles and buses that run to Telluride; both private and shared.
- Durango Regional Airport: Located 2 hrs. from Telluride. Again, you can reserve both private and shared shuttles or use Uber.

Durango, Colorado
- What to do:
- Main Street in Downtown Durango is about 30 minutes from the ski resort, Purgatory Ski Mountain. Purgatory is home to 94 different trails ranging from beginner to expert; there is something for everyone! If you don’t want to ski or feel like taking a day off from skiing, make sure and check out Durango’s wonderful downtown!
- How to get there:
- Durango Regional Airport is located just outside of Durango with cabs, shuttles, and Uber available to get you to town.
Aspen, Colorado
- Another great little mining town, a little more centrally located in Colorado with many high-end luxury hotels.
- How to get there:
- There are two airports near Aspen:
- Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) is just 3 minutes away from the town of Aspen. American Airlines flies non-stop from DFW; three times a day and they also offer daily non-stop flights from Chicago/O’Hare (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) during the winter months. Delta also has daily non-stop flights from Salt Lake City (SLC), Los Angeles (LAX), Atlanta (ATL) and Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP). United Airlines flies non-stop into Aspen from Chicago, Houston, LAX, and San Francisco.
- Denver International Airport (DEN/DIA) is also a great option if you don’t mind a little drive. Denver Airport is 220 miles away from Aspen. Colorado Mountain Express (CME) shuttle has a fleet of 275 vehicles, including: 12 passenger Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans, 10 passenger vans and 5-passenger 4-wheel drive SUV’s. There are over 1,700 daily flights into DIA from all over the world.

Utah
Park City, Utah
- What to do:
- Park City is home to 336 trails ranging from beginner to expert. Don’t worry, if you want to take a day off form the slopes, there is still plenty to do in Downtown Park City!
- How to get there:
- Park City is located just 45 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport. Most of the resorts in town are ski-in/ski-out, making for a great location! There are numerous daily flights into Salt Lake City International Airport so rest assured, you will always find a flight!
New Mexico
Santa Fe, New Mexico
- Although Santa Fe is known fortheir history, art, and culture.. they also have a great ski mountain! The ski mountain itself has more beginner and intermediate trails.
- If you’re looking to learn to ski, or brush up on your skills this would be a great spot! Lots to do off the mountain (and warm weather down in town) means you are not limiting yourself to a traditional ski vacation!
Taos, New Mexico
- Taos is in a really great location and very far off the beaten path. Although they do have some beginner and intermediate trails, they are known for their expert skiing.
- Steeps, glades, bumps and incredible chutes make up the skiing at Taos. They are world renowned for expert skiers and very off the radar. Taos didn’t allow snowboarding until a few years ago, and has an incredible small town vibe, mom + pop hospitality and the ski hill.
- The town of Taos or “Taos Pueblo” is very historic and not to be missed. There are some amazing spots to visit around the area, including the natural hot springs on the Rio Grandè river. They were featured in the cult hit “Easy Rider” in the 1960’s .
Austria
St. Anton, Austria
- St. Anton is a beautiful little mountain town with around 2,500 residents. This small mountain town is located 96km from Innsbruck Airport, 130km from Zurich Airport, and 300km from Munich making it an easy destination to get to!
- What to do:
- St. Anton is equally beautiful in the summer and winter with both hiking and skiing. St. Anton am Arlberg is also known as the “Cradle of Alpine Skiing”; a snowy paradise of the highest calibre. It is a superlative winter sports destination with many events going on throughout the winter. There are between 60-80 sunny days throughout the winter season with guaranteed snow until the end of April!
Schladming, Austria
- Schladming is located just 1 hr. away from Salzburg, 2.5 hrs. from Munich, and 3 hrs. from Innsbruck.
- What to do:
- This Austrian winter/summer destination is known for: skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, night skiing, shows, excursions, Ice stick shooting, horse drawn sleigh rides, and their wonderful cuisine!
Italy
Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy
- Cortina is in the Belluno province and is 72km from the town of Belluno; between Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige regions on the bother of Cimabanche Pass.

- 162km from Venice, Italy Airport
- 432km from Milan, Italy Airport
- What to do:
- Cortina d’Ampezzo is definitely a destination you need to check off of your bucket list. At the Cortina ski resort, there is guarantee of snow from November until the end of April. There are numerous World Cups, Nordic skiing Championships, and other race competitions held at the ski resort every year; the 1956 Winter Olympic Games were held at Cortina d’Ampezzo.
There is so much history associated with Cortina; it’s always great to mix history and fun! They also have great opportunities to relax after a long day on the slopes with pleasant walks, great restaurants and amazing shopping.
Switzerland
Zermatt, Switzerland
- Zermatt is not only a beautiful town, but also easy to get to! Some of the closer airports are: Zurich (3.5 hrs. away), Geneva (4 hrs. away), Milan (4 hrs away), and Bern (2 hrs. away).
- What to do:
- Zermatt is located on the Swiss side of the Matterhorn, the Italian town of Cervinia is on the other. The ski lifts go to some of the highest peaks, the Klein Matterhorn at 3,883 m. From this point you can see the 4000 meter alps and the Matterhorn.
Zermatt is not only known for their amazing skiing, but also for their high-end shops and gourmet restaurants; it’s a must see!
